Great family day out.. gardens are amazing and there's so much to discover and learn (for all ages) free headsets was great for the children with little games and clips that reminded them of horrible historys.

Walmer castle and garden, what a fabulous day looking around castle then out into the garden. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return in the spring, to see spring flowers coming up. Also the cafe immaculate and polite, service is fantastic . Great day

Dont let the size fool you - this fort is (was?) the real deal. We happy spent most of the day in the gardens, exploring the rooms, reading all the notes, listening to the guide. Then of course stopping for tea and cake in the cafe, and picking out gifts from the gift shop. A cozy, liveable, bijoux castle with loads of stories.

Excellent place to visit nice tea room . Good contrast to deal castle up the road. Both good to go to in their own ways. This is more of a home instead of a castle like Deal which has less furnishings and gardens. But we preferred Deal castle!

Interesting castle on the Kent coast with unsurprisingly good views across the English Channel. It was built as one of a chain of forts to protect against invasion from the Channel. The Duke of Wellington sadly died there in the mid 19th century, but it was later used to entertain all sorts of important people. The cafe provides good food and there is a car park.
